Dr Thomas Moors

Dr Thomas Moors (BE) is a medical voice doctor based in London, and the founder/choir director of Shout at Cancer. Launched in 2015, it’s the only charity in the world specialising in the use of music to help speech recovery and social reintegration after laryngectomy. Dr Moors is writing his Ph.D. on the integration of art into healthcare, and has received a charter from the Fund Christoffel Plantin for his contribution to the international prestige of Belgium (2017) and The Points of Light Award from the British Prime Minister (2017). In 2021, Shout at Cancer received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (equivalent to Membership of the British Empire (MBE), the highest achievable award for a charity in The U.K.). He has built up substantial professional networks internationally across research, medicine, healthcare, and the arts. His mission is to bring positive attention to small and scattered groups of individuals affected by less-common health issues who are overlooked in research and our society.
