We’re Martyn Stewart and Amanda Hill—a passionate uncle-and-niece duo united by our love for the natural world and a shared mission to protect it. In 2021, we founded The Listening Planet to amplify nature’s voice, bringing its beauty and fragility to the forefront of human consciousness through sound.

Martyn has spent over six decades capturing the sounds of the Earth—its whispers, roars, and silences—building one of the world’s most comprehensive nature sound archives. Amanda brought her storytelling expertise and vision to help expand this legacy, ensuring these sounds inspire change on a global scale.

Together, we created The Listening Planet as a platform to celebrate biodiversity, advocate for conservation, and remind the world why nature’s voice is worth listening to—and saving. From lush rainforests to remote Arctic tundras, every sound tells a story. It’s our mission to ensure those stories are heard by generations to come.
