Jinny Lyon

Involved in conservation since the age of 11, with a strong focus on inspiring and raising awareness, Jinny is now a global leader in technology. Pioneering techniques which have changed the scope of production and post-production technologies, and have since become industry standard.

Prior to joining the media industry Jinny worked for organisations such as WWT Slimbridge as an aviculturist. Here she reared and cared for a variety of species and their habitats, whilst providing behavioural observations for scientific researchers.

Jinny started her television career as a Story Developer for BBC Springwatch and later also creating content for their digital, red button and online platforms.

Following on to becoming the Production Workflow Lead for BBC Bristols in-house post-production facility, where she refined the processes between editorial and technology using cutting-edge techniques and custom built equipment. This role saw Jinny leading innovative projects, such as the first landmark Natural History film to be edited completely natively at UHD+ sizes which was dubbed “the biggest edit in the world” at the time, and trained a world-leading team of technicians to be able to support this scale of project.

During this time Jinny also created a post-production framework within the city to streamline production delivery and save costs and time. This framework allowed for increased collaboration potential and is adaptable to further technology innovations.

After leaving the BBC, Jinny worked as a senior level Technology Strategist. This role saw her work with major advertisers, global sports brands and multiple broadcasters to design, test and implement revolutionary new environments on-site and in the cloud. All this while also leading a globally-based technical team who provided support, guidance and technical solutions to a number of clients in the media & entertainment industry.
